Leadership Facilitator - Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting
Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting of Friends (RMYM) is seeking to fill a part-time position, a Leadership Facilitator, for 2012.
Our prayer is that God will provide us with a leader who can partner with RMYM Executive Board and work toward accomplishing Yearly Meeting goals: 1) facilitate the leadership of Christ among us; 2) develop the Executive Board as a team of leaders; 3) facilitate the implementation of God’s emerging vision for RMYM to thrive; 4) think “outside the RMYM box,” 5) develop networks among other Friends groups for the purpose of sharing resources, and other mutually advantageous activities.
One primary outcome goal is that the RMYM Executive Board and the Leadership Facilitator will develop a leadership proposal for the next stage of yearly meeting leadership to nurture and help us “put feet” to the faithfulness we are fully invested in and embarked upon. The 2011 RMYM general session amended the leadership plan and has recommended that a plan for attending to the well-being of our pastoral leaders also be included in the 2012-2013 Leadership Proposal.
As the Leadership Facilitator works among RMYM churches it is expected that he or she will become the recognized “Face” of the Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting. It is our expectation that as our public representative both within and without RMYM, the Leadership Facilitator will possess:
- A deep and abiding love of Jesus including a disciplined spiritual life coupled with the desire for and commitment to the spread of the gospel in the Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting and beyond.
- Attentiveness to the leading of the Holy Spirit and a commitment to the process of corporate discernment of His leading as practiced among the Friends Church.
- Sufficient knowledge and training in a leadership role.
- Experience & demonstrated ability in the encouragement & development of leaders.
- Proven administrative and supervisory effectiveness.
- Membership in the Friends Church.
- Understanding and commitment to the beliefs of Friends as stated in the RMYM Faith and Practice.
- An understanding and commitment to the work of the church of Christ worldwide and the particular response of the Friends Church in that work.
This position will be supported by the RMYM Executive Board and report directly to the clerk of the meeting. The Executive Board will conduct semi-annual performance reviews and will provide an annual evaluation of overall performance and effectiveness. Compensation for 13 weeks will be $14,400 plus benefits and expenses of $10,800 for a total package of $25,200. There is some flexibility available with in the package total.
