Friends United Meeting (FUM) is reopening the search for qualified applicants from North America tserve as Field Officer in the Africa Ministries Office. This full-time, Kisumu, Kenya-based staff person will receive a competitive salary, including benefits.

A successful applicant for this position will possess:

  • Passionate understanding for and practical experience in holistic mission work
  • Cultural competence and humility, with previous cross-cultural experience preferred
  • Willingness and ability trelocate tKisumu Kenya and ttravel extensively throughout East Africa
  • Ability twork cooperatively with colleagues from a variety of cultural backgrounds
  • Strong ability tcommunicate in a compelling way what God is doing in and through African Friends using a variety of media, including writing, social media, photography and video
  • Experience in project management, including finance and budgeting
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability
  • Capacity tlisten tand work well with others
  • Growing Christian Quaker faith and strong grounding in a Friends community
  • Fundraising ability, including raising project funds as well as raising own salary, benefits and expenses
